A bit confining creatively?
If you live in Tokyo, you know what I mean when I say,
“It’s an incredible place to live, but sometimes I just want to break out and be FREE!”
With so much city all around, so many people, so much organization and order, it can be overwhelming. I made this class feeling that I really wanted was to:
Make a mess with paint and just see what happens.
The first time I did it — just with one brave Japanese friend — we both felt so FREE!

Sounds interesting. What are we doing?
This is the place for you if you are looking for a class that is outside the box. Something that is fun, joyful and physically creative.
We will be working on large long wide sheets of blank paper. They will be laid out on a tarp. We will be filling up those blank sheets with color by mixing acrylic paint with our hands.You are welcome to wear latex gloves if you don’t want to get too painty. No brushes. Just your fingers and your hands. We will be working with primary colors and white and water. And we are going to see what we create! We will be working on different areas of the paper, then moving around to work on another piece, seeing how we want to contribute to a section. It will be collaborative, but not with any exact final product in mind.
At the end, you are welcome to take a few feet of the “Freedom Painting” home with you. (You might need to Roshambo/Jankenpon for a popular section!)
NOTE: You will need to wear clothes that can get painty. We will be working with acrylic paints which do not come out of fabric. You can wear clothes that you want to get artfully painty! They will be your new “art clothes!”
*A really rainy day will cancel/postpone, but a little sprinkle won’t.
